MASTERS OF FANTASTIC PAINTING
TAKE OVER THE SCHÈMES GALLERY
The Schèmes gallery is celebrating this year its 30 years of existence and nearly 1000 exhibitions of oneiric and surrealist painting. “ This is our specialty ”, confirms Didier Dewulf, who brought together a hundred works executed by many French and Belgian artists, and not the least ones, for the occasion.
Michèle Van Cotthem, David De Graef and Eli Tiunine, masters of the genre, respond to talented artists from the region like Chimère, Éric Bourdon, Gaston Caron, Claudia, Marie-Hélène Fournier and Virginie Fiers, or also Anne-Marie Wargnier, whose futuristic vision of the Earth questions us. The Belgian Raf Veulemans exhibits for the first time in France.
Costumes and totems
Also worth discovering, Peggy Wauters’ fantastic sculptures, the medieval costumes by Natacha Lagneaux, Isabelle Diguet’s totems and the latex masks of Émeline, from the Artéïde association which works for the cinema. An anthology not to be missed [...]
For this unique event, the gallery is also associated with Barclays Bank, delighted to exhibit some paintings. “ Two years ago, during the renovation of our premises, we wanted to bring art to us, to brighten up this somewhat austere environment and put life in it, explains Valéry Dufossez, director of the agency in Lille. Our clients have greatly appreciated this initiative. [...] ”
