A DEFINITELY VERY CREATIVE YOUNG MAN
After his Miró period and his Picasso period - the Spanish masters that he admires the most, whithout forgetting Dalí - Swan is tackling his more personal period : a tangle of small varied and figurative patterns, covering all the canvas, with bright oil colors or, less toxic, according to him, and drying faster, with acrylic painting.
"I draw with a pencil, first, starting at the top left and finishing at the bottom right. The color comes later," explains Eric Bourdon (alias Swan) […] He discovered painting two years ago. It quickly became a vital need ! And he intends to make it his profession by moving to Paris.

* In 2000 I had taken the pseudonym 'Eric Swan', which I used for this first exhibition and to sign several paintings (I almost never signed my pre-Swan creations). As I spent the summer prospecting Parisian galleries, and not owning an umbrella, a terrible storm broke out while I was visiting one after the other the very chic galleries on Avenue Matignon. The manager of the gallery I was entering as wet as if I had just come out of a swimming pool, visibly moved by my determination and not seeming to notice the puddles of water I left on the floor of his high-end art gallery, showed me the way to the restroom to dry off while he examined my works... He bought an oil painting on paper at a price that seemed enormous to me at the time, which he kindly asked me to sign : the only one I signed 'Swanko'. He didn't know it, but it was the very first sale of my life. No memory of the weather when I went out, but Paris was the most beautiful city in the world !... I no longer used a pseudonym after that day.
