And most of all it is a model of efficiency and simplicity for all sketch artists, beginners or experienced.<\/p>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1150\" src=\"https:\/\/ericbourdon.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/La-Linea-Osvaldo-Cavandoli-1.jpg\" alt=\"La Linea - Osvaldo Cavandoli 1\" width=\"442\" height=\"326\" \/><\/p>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;When Osvaldo Cavandoli (1920-2007) developed his interest in cartoons in 1944, he started working with Nino Pagot, who later created <em>Calimero<\/em>. In 1950, he started working independently as a director and a producer.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1151\" src=\"https:\/\/ericbourdon.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/La-Linea-Osvaldo-Cavandoli-2.jpg\" alt=\"La Linea - Osvaldo Cavandoli 2\" width=\"442\" height=\"299\" \/><\/p>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Cavandoli (aka <em>Cava<\/em>) enjoyed worldwide recognition in the 1970s with his character <em>La Linea<\/em>, a simply drawn cartoon born and lived out of a single white pencil stroke. Massimo Lagostina, the owner of a popular brand of cookware, used <em>La Linea<\/em> for his advertising campaign. The accompanying narration of the first 8 episodes identified Mr. Linea as <em>Agostino Lagostina,<\/em> &#8220;A lively little man, with a truly expressive nose, endowed with all the demands and concerns of modern life. Born of a pencil and a hand.&#8221; <em>Lagostina<\/em> became one of the first Italian companies to understand the importance of advertising.<\/p>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1152\" src=\"https:\/\/ericbourdon.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/La-Linea-Osvaldo-Cavandoli-3.jpg\" alt=\"Osvaldo Cavandoli Italian cartoonist\" width=\"442\" height=\"252\" \/><\/p>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>La Linea<\/em> was voiced by Carlo Bonomi in a mock version of Milanese that resembled gibberish as much as possible, giving the cartoon the possibility to be easily exported without dubbing. Following the success of the commercial, <em>La Linea<\/em> became the protagonist of a series of short animated cartoons subsequently adopted in many European countries.
